For anyone who has a batchelor´s degree in International Relations?
Double 709 asked:
Have you been able to find an IR-related job other than teaching? Any tips on what type of jobs to look for? I haven´t had any luck since I graduated and all international organizations seem to be dead ends because they want people with economics, finance or business backgrounds

Yeah, it’s important to have at least some understanding of economics if you want to have any real understanding of international relations. What exactly did you study in your program? Our international relations degree encouraged classes like international finance, macroecon, etc.
Anyway, you ought to consider doing something like the Peace Corps, if you have any useful skills. Otherwise, perhaps try taking the U.S. Foreign Service exam, and pursue a job with the government. Perhaps even try to get a job working as an aide to a member of Congress. Have you been pounding the pavement in DC? You have to just keep looking…there’s no such thing as jobs sitting there waiting for you. You have to find them.
I had a roommate who had IR , he worked in a non- government organisation, especially in managing and HR departments
